Introducing CEC's emergent Therapeutic Horticulture program!
In recent years, creating a mission-aligned garden curriculum has resulted in lessons that weave together social-emotional learnings with garden-based experiences. We find that our garden students are coming away with not only horticulture skills, but increased self confidence, community-building skills, and creative thinking abilities.
Our goal is to take our current offerings and develop them into a new therapeutic horticulture program. This program will utilize our organization’s expertise as farm to school educators as well as community partnerships with local health authorities and school-based mental health professionals. With the support of an advisory board, we will develop a curriculum that pairs garden skills with social-emotional learnings, to be implemented in school gardens and our own children’s garden.

Children's Garden at SAGE
Come grow with us! Every first Friday of the month we will host a drop-in family work party to help manage the therapeutic children's garden, come together with the community and support one another.
All abilities are welcome to participate in these family-friendly, collaborative activities. Education will be available in both English and Spanish.
Please note that wheelchair access to the children's garden can be difficult because of the wood mulch, but we have helped navigate this before!

School Garden Programs
CEC offers support for school gardens in the Linn-Benton area through after school garden clubs, Garden Adventure classes, and our partnership with CSD's PAGES program.
