Dunawi Creek Community Gardens

at SAGE Garden

There is a waitlist for DCCG plots for 2024

If you are interested in being added to the waitlist, please fill out this form.  As plots become available, CEC staff will contact individuals on the waitlist in the order the request was received.  At this time, it would require quite a existing gardeners to leave for new additions on the waitlist to be invited to garden in 2024.

Dunawi Creek Community Garden is located in Bruce Starker Arts Park on SW 45th Place and Country Club Dr. in Southwest Corvallis.  This 2-acre garden hosts nearly 100 community garden plots, a native plant garden, a shared small-fruit area, and provides four ADA-accessible garden beds. Garden amenities include a stocked tool shed, access to wood chips & leaves, city water, a knowledgeable garden manager, and a picnic table. The park features a play toy structure, picnic tables, a duck pond, and an amphitheater. The Corvallis-Philomath bike path offers easy accessibility as does the Corvallis Transit System bus stop located at the corner of the park.

Choose from:

400 square foot plot: $110 (+ $25 refundable deposit)
200 square foot plots $65 (+ $25 refundable deposit)
100 square foot plots $50 (+ $25 refundable deposit)
ADA Raised Beds, 32 square foot plots $15 (no deposit)

Community Service

To qualify for a refund of the $25 deposit, the community gardener must:

Complete 6 hours of ‘community service’ at DCCG. This work may include mowing, weed whacking, tools repair, helping with community berry patches, pumpkin patches, and/or squash patches; working on the compost program/bins, etc. For more ideas, gardeners may contact the Community Agriculture Manager directly. These community service hours are self-recorded and reported to the Community Agriculture Manager upon completion and before November 15th.

Clean up their garden plot at the end of the growing season. This means removing all spent plants, weeds, and other materials and structures, and laying down at least 4 inches of mulch (leaves provided). Additionally, all garden structures need to be completely secure or taken down. (For example, no tarps, row cover, fencing, pots, etc. blowing around.)

Gardeners may leave winter harvest and/or overwintering plants in the ground.

Gardeners planning to return the following year may elect to use a different mulch so long as their garden plot soil is covered to the same degree; ie: straw, living cover crop, sheet mulch, etc. This material is NOT provided by the Community Agriculture Manager.

Deposit requests made before November 15th will be processed and mailed out by December 15th.

Gardeners that plan to return the following year may request to have their $25 deposit rolled over. As an alternative, the $25 deposit could be donated back to the CEC which would continue to support wonderful nature-based programs for the community.
