How Age Groups Work
If there are multiple groups in a camp, campers are typically placed into age-appropriate groups (Sprouts, Buds, Blooms, etc.) shortly before the start of camp. Some camps include multiple age groups, while others are designed for a narrower age range.

Week 1: June 15 - 19
Create and Explore 🎨🌿
Ages: 5.5 - 9 (Mixed Sprouts & Buds)

Stretch your creativity and play outdoors! Campers will make art inspired by the sights, sounds, and colors of nature. Experiment, imagine, and let curiosity guide you to create masterpieces from the world around you. Enjoy a week full of outdoor exploration and creative expression.
Bike Camp: Wild Winged Bikers 🚲🦋
Ages: 7-11 (Blooms)

Buzz, flap, and rise on the currents of an aerodynamic adventure! Glide down trails seeking bats, bees, butterflies, and birds in high-flying habitats. Explore how animals as small as a bee and as large as an eagle move through the air as we pedal alongside them. This bike camp is designed for independent riders who can start and stop on a pedal bike without training wheels.

Learn to Ride 🚲

Is biking new for your child? Let's Get Rollin' is a beginner-focused camp for children just learning to ride a two-wheeled bike. We’ll take extra time to practice starting, stopping, turning, pedaling up and down gentle hills, and riding on varied surfaces. Please bring a two-wheeled bike (no training wheels or strider bikes). Note: confident riders may find this camp slower-paced while beginner riders practice foundational skills.

SAGE Camp: Wildcrafting 🌻🎨

Immerse yourself in the wild world of the SAGE garden! Campers will explore local plants, make natural dyes, brew garden sun tea, and discover the magic of plants through hands-on experiments and playful outdoor exploration.
Animal Athletes 🏃🦋
Ages: 8 - 12 (Blooms)

Pass the pinecone! The forest is your field for Animal Athletes. Run, pass, and work together to play outdoor games inspired by predator-prey interactions. Meet live program animals whose sharp senses and agility would score serious sports points in any game.
Week 3: June 29 - July 2

Whimsy in the Woods 🌿🏃
Ages: 5.5 - 8 (Sprouts)

Calling all cloud gazers! Imagination and curiosity lead the way at Whimsy in the Woods. Campers will investigate snail shells and butterfly wings, follow winding trails, and create fairy houses. Through play, observation, and creativity, children will discover magic in everyday outdoor moments at Avery Park.
Note: This camp runs Monday through Thursday. The CEC observes Friday, July 3rd as a holiday.
Arboreal Explorers 🌿

From the forest floor to the highest branches, explore the plants and animals that call Avery Park home. Examine leaves, insects, and birds up close, and discover how forests grow, adapt, and stay healthy through hands-on activities and guided exploration. Campers will investigate ecosystems, notice patterns in nature, and deepen their understanding of the forest’s hidden dynamics at Avery Park.

Bike Camp: Rockin’ Riders 🚲🏃

Pedal through time and terrain as we explore the forces that shape our planet. Along the way, campers will see how rocks and minerals form, how volcanoes and tectonic plates change the land, and what the ground beneath their wheels can tell us about Earth's history. This bike camp is for confident riders ready for 5-10 miles of active exploration, navigating hills and uneven terrain. Campers will also have the opportunity to test their skills at a rock climbing gym.

Week 4: July 6 - 10
SAGE Camp: Sweet Pizza 🌻🥣
Ages: 5.5 - 11 (Sprouts, Buds)

Sweet treats and yummy eats! Explore some of our favorite foods from the ground up. Make sweet pizzas in the cob oven at SAGE, create your own berry jam, harvest edible flowers from the garden, and enjoy hands-on cooking. Each day includes garden time, games, and activities. A guided visit to a nearby blueberry farm is planned for Thursday.
Earth, Wind, and Fire 🏃🌿

Harness the power of the elements and see how earth, air, and fire shape our world and how humans can work with them to protect it. Through hands-on experiments and outdoor challenges at Avery Park, campers will learn how small actions can make a big impact for the planet.

SAGE Camp: Garden Artists 🎨🌿

Creativity blooms with SAGE as a muse! From butterfly wings to string beans, find inspiration in every corner of our educational garden. Practice painting, sculpting, and sketching your way through the scents and sights of SAGE.
Tent and Travel 🏃🦋

Tent and Travel offers the chance to learn basic camping skills and gain confidence in the outdoors. Campers will build friendships, work together on outdoor challenges, and support one another in a fun, team-focused environment. Finish the week with a one-night camping trip on Thursday, where stories and shared adventures create lasting memories. Additional fee required for transportation and camping.
Week 6: July 20 - 24
Flights of Fancy 🎨🌿

Soar through summer with our flying friends! Campers will search for nests, examine feathers, and learn how flying creatures move through the air. Play games inspired by flight, and enjoy hands-on activities that bring the world of wings to life.
Bike Camp: Planet Pedal 🚲

Journey by bike on the rays of the sun through our solar system, atmosphere, and into the Earth’s molten core. Hunt for the hidden power of the sun’s energy and uncover the secrets of life on our planet! Planet Pedal is for independent bikers who can start and stop on a pedal bike without training wheels.

Wet and Wild 🌿

Dive in to learn about aquatic ecosystems! Adventure through rivers, streams, puddles, and ponds to meet the amazing creatures that live underwater. Learn how water shapes our world, from sandy banks to tangled plants. Thursday includes a full-day beach field trip, returning by 4pm.
Cloak & Campfire 🎨🌿

From fantasy tales to winding trails, join us for Cloak & Campfire. Bring your curiosity and imagination to embark on a cozy, crafty, outdoor journey. Weave stories through whispering woods and wade through rippling waters. Choose your own adventure throughout Corvallis!

SAGE Camp: Sprouting Seeds 🌻

Adventure Camp 🏃

Climb, swing, and jump into a week full of outdoor nature adventures. Learn new skills, brave new challenges, and engage with nature through exploratory play. From splashing in the river, hiking through lush forests, and balancing over logs, Adventure Camp has something new for every thrill-seeker. Let the fun begin!
Bike Camp: Pedal & Paint 🚲🎨

Ride into a world of color and imagination! Pedal through Corvallis while decorating bikes and creating playful art along the way. Random acts of art are encouraged, with games and activities to keep the fun rolling all day. Designed for independent bikers who can start and stop on a pedal bike without training wheels.

SAGE Camp: Pizza Pie 🌻🥣

From dirt to delicious, explore some of our favorite foods! Make pizza from scratch in our cob oven at SAGE during Camp Pizza Pie. Harvest your own toppings fresh from the garden, and bake your pizza to perfection in our outdoor cob oven. A guided visit to a local dairy farm is planned for Thursday.
Bike Camp: Wheels to Fields 🚲🌻

Embark on exciting bike rides through Corvallis to explore our local food systems! Pedal past urban farms, cruise through vegetable fields, and visit the farmers market. This bike camp is for confident riders ready for 5-10 miles of active exploration, navigating hills and uneven terrain with ease.
