Connecting Youth and Food for a Sustainable Future


The Corvallis Environmental Center is partnering with the Boys & Girls Club on a project that will focus on connecting youth with our local food system through a variety of community partners and activities. We will provide opportunities for students to utilize this system as a living laboratory to explore environmental science, sustainable agriculture, cooking, and nutrition. Students will be given the opportunity to build healthy habits by participating in tasting tables, cooking classes, field trips, family engagement events, and professional and leadership development opportunities. Programming began to be offered at the BGCC clubhouse and teen center, the CEC garden, as well as schools and other community locations beginning in fall 2019.
