Program and Event Updates Related to COVID-19
The Corvallis Environmental Center is actively engaged in monitoring the corona virus COVID-19 situation and is collaborating to provide timely updates for all of our programming and events. The health and well being of our kiddos and their families is our number one priority and therefore all events and in-person programming will be cancelled, which includes the following:
CEC Connects - Here you will find online resources to help you and your family connect with and learn about our natural world. Featuring online Farm to School and NaturePlay Preschool educational content, there is something for everyone: From gardening tips to science experiments, wildflower hikes to tasty recipes.
Natural History Live! Education Classes for Elementary Students (via Zoom). Each week, explore another rung of the evolutionary ladder with CEC Naturalist Serene! From invertebrates to mammals, students will learn about the diversity and natural history of animal groups through activities, experiments, and live animals! Students will be able to engage with their teacher and peers virtually as they learn. For more information and to sign up, click here.
Garden Yoga- Join us for live virtual yoga sessions with Jess Worden, yoga instructor and CEC's Farm to School Coordinator. All proceeds from these classes support the education and community programs that we offer.
Spring Plant Sale- Help your community as you grow your garden by purchasing plant starts the Spring Plant Sale. Organically-grown and transplant-ready tomatoes, cucumbers, herbs, and more are available for purchase at $3 each. All proceeds benefit our Food for Families program.
Food for Families Program- Thanks to your help, Starker Arts Garden for Education (SAGE) is getting more green and growing food for those who are hungry. Please donate here if you can!
The status of other programs, including summer camps and concerts, will be determined as the coronavirus situation develops.
Note that our downtown office and Avery House Nature Center are closed to the public. All of our staff are following social distancing protocol and working from home.
