Outdoor fun before school begins for ages 5 – 13! Join us August 31st through September 4th for a stand alone adventure in nature or a full week of outdoor exploration.
Monday – Tree Line Challenge Course
Monday’s pop up adventure features obstacles and games in the oak forest. Learn climbing techniques and safety, try a slackline, and other nature challenges. There will be fun for all ability levels discovering the Oak Forest Ecosystem Location: Avery House
Tuesday – Forest Bike and Stream Hop
Bike to fun stream points along Oak Creek. Hike up and down streams in an off train forest adventure. Location: Drop off at the new barn on campus way trail. Pick up at the oak grove area fairgrounds
Wednesday – Mud Bog Bike Adventure
Discover wetland sponge and ecosystem diversity from aquatic life to tracks in the mud. We will have a blast sinking into the wonders of the wetlands. Note: We will really sink into the mud but only to knee height and students do not have to go in the mud if they do not want to. Location: Crystal Lake Sports Park
Thursday: Forests Waterfalls (with Optional Overnight)
A deep wilderness hike will lead us to amazing waterfall fun, cold mountain water and beautiful forest old growth. Location: Avery House then a bus trip to Alsea Falls
**Optional Overnight Camping at Alsea Falls Do some tent camping, cook over a fire, see nocturnal animals, enjoy native storytelling and more. Must be 6 or older and have experience spending the night without parents. We will have an 8:1 or less ratio of kids to adults. Overnight campers will return at 12:00PM on Friday and can stay for the Mary’s river float and normal 3:00 pm pick up if registered for Friday as well (additional $30 fee includes dinner, snacks and Friday lunch).
Friday – Mary’s River Float and Boat Building
Experiment with river flow, gravel islands, and swirling waters. Engage in the power of water! Class starts at normal camp time for students that do not attend overnight on Thursday. Location: Avery House
