GET INVOLVED

Take Charge Corvallis is supported by volunteers of all ages, skills and backgrounds. Join us today and help win the $5 million Georgetown University Energy Prize!  Volunteer for a few hours, or become a regular with Take Charge. Help us win and make a difference in Corvallis!

Get involved with Take Charge Corvallis through one of the following volunteer opportunities, or apply for an internship.

Volunteer with our Bright Idea Campaign:

Currently, we’re running the Bright Idea Campaign, which means we’ll be giving out over 35,000 FREE LEDs to Corvallis residents. These bulbs will save the community 2,730,000 kWh; 4,204,000 lbs of CO2; and $273,000 every year!

Want to help? You’ve got 2 options!
>OPTION ONE: PACKAGING PARTIES!

We’re excited to get these bulbs out there, but FIRST, we need your help! We want each and every bulb we give away to have a Bright Idea info sleeve wrapped around it. Come to one of our packaging parties and help us make sure that along with a free LED, everyone in Corvallis gets some great info on Take Charge Corvallis and learns other ways to save energy.

>OPTION TWO: BRIGHT IDEA BULB DISTRIBUTION

We’ll meet for a quick orientation on Take Charge Corvallis – the local effort led by Energize Corvallis and the Corvallis Sustainability Coalition to win this competition! Then your group will spend about 45 minutes preparing supplies to distribute free LEDs in Corvallis neighborhoods. You and a partner will go door-to-door delivering one free Bright Idea Bulb at each home you visit and talking to folks about the competition and ways they can get involved. It’s a great way to meet new people and make a real difference in reducing our community’s energy use and carbon dioxide emissions – and it’s fun! All skill levels/ages/families are welcome to participate.

Check out our upcoming volunteer days and RSVP to one (or all!) of them. We go out in pairs, so you can bring a friend or make a new one!
