Who We Are: The Corvallis Environmental Center (CEC) is a 501c3 that was founded in 1994 as a grassroots effort to take action on a number of environmental issues. For over 20 years the CEC has been one of the keystones of our local community. Through programs focused on environmental literacy, food and farming education, local food security, energy conservation and climate action, the CEC has established itself as a regional leader in the environmental movement.
Our mission is to educate, engage, and inspire people to get involved in creating a healthy, sustainable community. The CEC fills an important niche in our community–every year we directly reach more than 15,000 people through the activities of core program areas.”
Our Vision: The Corvallis Environmental Center is a key player in the creation of a sustainable community one in which the environment, the economy and social systems are connected in a way that meets the needs of present generations without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. As a result of these efforts, the concepts of sustainability will be widely understood and practiced by individuals and organizations, and Corvallis will be known for its commitment to an ecologically sound future.
